Paying Homage “Race Films” : The Scar of Shame (1927)

A distinct socioeconomic dichotomy is displayed throughout this silent gem of the 1920’s. This Library of Congress preservation depicts what people of color, who are craftsmen of acting, have been trying to achieve within mainstream cinema for years. With an all black cast, but produced and directed by an integrated crew The Scar of Shame is a must see for all those who are lovers and students of the craft. Bon Appétit!
