It happened.  Anji Ray Productions is official.  I can’t believe it took me this long to start but I’m glad that I did.  One word to describe how I feel?  EMPOWERED.  Anjels, it got to a point where I was rolling over every morning and dreading going to work, going to build someone’s business.  It just seemed so ridiculous.  Here I was putting my all into someone else’s dreams, another person’s aspirations.  I was an expert at my corporate job, helping others is exhilarating to me but who was helping me?  No one.  So, I decided to help myself.  They say you are only one thought away from a million dollars.  All it takes is a vision.  It finally clicked with me.  I am my own business.  Let me expound.

Anji Ray Productions LLC is a script development and real estate location company based out of Atlanta, GA and will soon hold office in Los Angeles, CA.  Over the years, I’ve been chipping away at the requirements to be an actor.  Conservatory?  Check.  Screen Actors Guild membership? Eligible.  Agent? Pending.  Manager?  Pending.  Public Relations?  Pending.  Lawyer?  Pending.  Those “Pendings” became a bit too much.

I’ve been in this Entertainment Industry since 2004 and have worked very hard at establishing my brand but quite frankly, I’m not where I need to be.  However, that all changed on October 3rd, 2016 when ANJI RAY PRODUCTIONS was born.  After tons of submissions for roles, managers and agents I decided that I needed to expand my brand.  How can one stand out if you are doing the same routine as others?  It’s impossible to “diversify” by falling in line like all the others.  So diversify I have.

I know very well that I have what they call the “It” factor.  I’ve known it for quite some time now, however, what I didn’t know was how to capitalize off of it.  People always ask me, “Why don’t you have an agent or a manager yet?  You’re good.”  My answer, “It is all in God’s timing.”  I am more than marketable and bankable, but it only takes one person to see that.  All it takes is one opportunity, but how will that opportunity present itself?  That, I do not know.

I do know that I can write.  That my voice is distinct in and of itself.  So, while life was presenting challenges, I presented my first scripts.  Yes, scripts.  I created parts for myself.  Diversify they say.  Check.

I also know that I see the world through a figurative lens.  Literally.  As I’m walking down the street or speaking with someone or passing by a conversation, I envision it through a lens.  That’s where my director’s hat comes in.  You see, I do not watch projects from the seat of the consumer anymore, but that of the creator.  I’m always educating myself on technique and the likes.   Quentin Tarantino once quoted, “I never went to film school, I went to films.”  Yeah, check on that too.

Production comes naturally to me.  I love to network, quite frankly I consider it my niche.  I credit my business skills to my 17+ years in Property Management and my upbringing as a military brat.  I have lived in Europe and Central America and have managed property in virtually every market across the United States.  From ultra high end real estate to the bottom of the barrel, I have seen it all and excelled at it all.  For as long as I can remember, I have been advised from clients to CEOs that I should sell real estate, but I ran to the hills away from it.  I was comfortable in Property Management.  Then came the paradigm shift of 2015, I wanted to BE the boss.  So, in December of 2016, I successfully passed the Georgia Real Estate exam to be a licensed Realtor.  Check.

In essence, this is a pseudo introduction to ANJI RAY PRODUCTIONS and a revamping of my blog.  My goal is to be as transparent as possible in my upcoming endeavors.  In closing, I invite you, ANJELS, to take this journey with me in my quest at perfecting not only my craft as an artist but as a business.

My motto is and always as been:

It Is What It Is Until You Change It.
